The Teroldego Rotaliano DOC of Trentino Ambassador is the wine that most directly and most proudly expresses the region's most distinctive indigenous red variety — a grape so specific to the Rotaliano plain of Trentino that its DOC is named for the territory from which it cannot be separated. Teroldego is the ambassador wine of the portfolio that declares itself as ambassador of Trentino Alto Adige: there is no more appropriate wine through which to make that declaration.
The Teroldego vine is cultivated exclusively in the Campo Rotaliano, a small but uniquely fertile plain in the Noce river valley just north of Trento, where deep gravel soils of alluvial origin combined with the specific microclimate of the valley produce a Teroldego of dark colour, rich fruit, and genuine structural depth. Trentino Ambassador's organic and sustainable approach to this variety — exclusively hand-harvested in October — ensures that the wine expresses the Rotaliano plain's specific character with the purity and integrity that conventional farming cannot achieve.
Deep ruby red with aromatic notes of raspberries and currant: the characteristic Teroldego aromatic profile in its most vibrant expression. Broad and fine on the nose; dry, firm, and fruity on the palate with a soft tannin that balances the variety's natural structural weight. The estate recommends serving at 18 to 20 degrees Celsius and pairing with typical Trentino dishes: rich and tasty preparations, lasagne, roasts, aged cheeses, grilled meats, and game.
Available in both 0.75 and 1.5 litre formats — the magnum size reflecting the estate's understanding that Teroldego at its best is a wine for the convivial Trentino table, for the occasions that call for a larger bottle and a longer evening.
