The Lagrein Trentino DOC of Trentino Ambassador is the estate's most structurally serious red wine — a 100% Lagrein from Trentino mountain vineyards on alluvial soil, hand-harvested in October, expressing the most characterful and most individually distinctive of the region's indigenous red varieties. As an ambassador of Trentino Alto Adige, the estate's choice to include Lagrein alongside Teroldego in its four-wine portfolio is a statement of commitment to the region's full indigenous red variety identity — not just the Rotaliano plain's Teroldego, but the mountain viticulture's Lagrein as well.

The alluvial soil of the Lagrein vineyards — distinct from the porphyry that hosts the Gewürztraminer — provides a different mineral foundation, richer in mineral diversity and more variable in texture. Combined with the cool, well-ventilated Trentino mountain conditions and the hand-harvested organic viticulture that the estate applies throughout, the alluvial Lagrein vineyards produce a wine of the particular freshness and mineral precision that distinguishes mountain Lagrein from valley-floor productions of the same variety.

Very intense ruby red with violet reflections — the dramatic colour of Lagrein at its most concentrated, the violet reflection signalling the variety's characteristic anthocyanin richness. Intense nose with hints of berries, violet, and dark chocolate with a light spicy note: the full aromatic complexity of Lagrein in its most complete mountain expression. Dry with soft tannins, balanced and elegant, soft, velvety, and full on the palate.
