PeterLuis is the second Metodo Classico expression of the Monte Deserto estate — an eighteen-month traditional method sparkling wine from Verdicchio that complements the Extra-Brut Così è with a slightly different character profile and a slightly different production timing. The name carries a personal warmth — the kind of name given to a wine that is someone's particular favourite, that reflects a specific affection rather than a generic category.

Eighteen months on the lees is a meaningful commitment for a Metodo Classico production — sufficient to develop genuine autolytic complexity, the fine persistent perlage, and the integration of secondary and tertiary aromas that distinguish traditional method sparkling wine from the tank-fermented alternatives. At the same time, eighteen months is a period that preserves more of the primary fruit character of the Verdicchio grape than the longer ageing of some prestige cuvées allows, maintaining the freshness and varietal definition that are among Verdicchio's most valued qualities.

The Monte Deserto estate's three-hectare hill in the heart of the Castelli di Jesi classic production zone provides the specific Verdicchio character that makes this sparkling wine distinctly of its territory rather than generically Italian: the calcareous marl with clay component, the lively acidic vein and saline note that are the hill's most consistent contributions to its wines, are present in PeterLuis as they are in every wine the Socci family produces.

Federico Socci's experience in France — where the Metodo Classico tradition originated and where it has been refined over centuries — is the technical foundation on which PeterLuis is built.
