The Amarone of Masari is the estate's most ambitious red wine — the production that demands the most of the vineyard, the cellar, and the winemaker's patience, and that in its most accomplished expressions produces something of genuine greatness. From Corvina (70%) and Rondinella on the volcanic and limestone terraces of the Agno Valley, with the unusual backdrop of basalt dry stone walls and the cool, sheltered microclimate of the Piccole Dolomiti foothills, this Amarone carries the specific mineral character of its exceptional terroir throughout its extended production process.

The Amarone production method begins with the harvest: grapes are hand-collected and placed in small crates for the extended drying period that is the defining step of this wine style. The drying concentrates the sugars, aromatics, and phenolic compounds of the Corvina-dominant blend into a must of extraordinary intensity before vinification. After pressing and fermentation, the wine ages for thirty months in barrique — a commitment of two and a half years of oak contact that integrates the wine's formidable concentration, develops the aromatic complexity that its raw power alone cannot achieve, and imparts the layer of wood-derived spice and structure that complements the Amarone's inherent character. Ten months in bottle follow before release.

The imposing red of deep ruby red verging on garnet announces in the glass the wine's substantial weight and development. Intense fruity bouquet of cherry and dried plum with floral aromas of dried flowers and sweet spices on the nose — the classic Amarone aromatic profile given the specific mineral dimension of the Agno Valley's volcanic and limestone soils. Smooth and captivating in the mouth; extremely elegant full body; long finish.

The Masari Amarone represents the summit of what the Agno Valley's exceptional terroir — its flint-like mineral richness, its biodiversity, its ancient terraced viticulture — can produce.
