RED CUVÉE

The Red Cuvée is the estate's single red wine offering — an ambitious blend of Montepulciano, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon from the clay-limestone and gypsum soils of the Castelli di Jesi estate, aged twelve months in barrique followed by six months in bottle. It represents the estate's willingness to extend its vision beyond the Verdicchio-centred identity for which the area is best known and to demonstrate that the same organic, meticulous approach to viticulture that produces its celebrated whites can be applied with equal rigour to a serious red blend.

The blend draws on three varieties of complementary character: Montepulciano, the central Marche and Abruzzo red grape of deep colour, rich fruit, and genuine structural capacity; Merlot, providing the softness of texture and the generous fruit that makes the blend immediately accessible; and Cabernet Sauvignon, contributing the aromatic complexity, the firm tannin backbone, and the ageing potential that international varieties bring to blends of this ambition.

Twelve months in barrique — a period of controlled oxidative ageing that integrates the tannins, develops the wood-derived spice and vanilla notes, and builds the aromatic complexity that the three varieties' individual contributions alone could not achieve — followed by six months in bottle that allows the final integration before release. The result is a wine that is deep ruby red in colour, captivating from the first glance.

On the nose, the wine opens with enveloping notes of ripe fruit, sweet spice, and toasted nuances — the classic profile of a well-made barrique-aged red blend at the stage of optimal development. The palate is full, structured, and harmonious, with the aromatic depth of a cuvée from three complementary varieties. An elegant pairing with red meats and game, or flavourful appetisers.
