LE BRACI

Le Braci is the summit Negramaro of the Fratelli Addimanda estate — produced from top grapes subjected to an overmaturation or induced wilting process that gives the wine a complex structure of genuine depth and distinction. It is planned for ageing in small oak barrels, where the potentialities developed during the overmaturation phase are fully expressed and integrated into a wine described by the estate as regal and sumptuous.

The overmaturation or induced wilting technique — in which the harvested grapes are allowed to lose moisture and concentrate their sugars, aromatic compounds, and polyphenols before vinification — is a production choice of considerable commitment. It requires the patience to wait while the grapes develop beyond their harvest condition, the space and conditions to manage that development safely, and the winemaking skill to translate the resulting concentrated fruit into wine without losing the freshness that distinguishes great concentrated wines from merely heavy ones.

The wine presents with a purple intense red colour of grenadine reflections — visually arresting before the first sip, the colour of a wine that has achieved genuine concentration without sacrificing luminosity. The nose offers an intense variety of flowers that is persistent to the olfactory experience — the aromatic generosity of Negramaro in its most fully developed expression, combined with the particular floral complexity that the wilting process amplifies.

On the palate, the colour stabilisation and reduction of natural astringency that the small oak barrel ageing achieves are immediately apparent: the tannins are present but softened, the fruit is rich but not heavy, and the finish is long and genuinely sumptuous — the word the estate uses, and the right one. Le Braci is a wine of genuine occasion, for the most important moments of the table.
