The Greti Rosée is the rosé wine of the Fattoria Medicea estate — the only rosé in a portfolio otherwise devoted entirely to red and white wines — and it carries the character of its Tuscan origin with the particular freshness and aromatic charm that good Chianti-country rosé reliably delivers. The name references the Greti landscape of the Chianti Classico territory — an area of rough, light-coloured soils of galestro and alberese that are among the most characteristically Tuscan of all geological formations.

The wine's colour tells its Provençal credentials at first glance: an old pink of its dress that carries the refined paleness associated with the most considered rosé production — not the vivid pink of Campanian or Puglian rosé but the deliberate, restrained blush of a wine that has learned its colour vocabulary from the southern French tradition. The nose immediately brings back Tuscany, however: a hint of cherry and plum, blood orange, and damask rose with a slight touch of geranium announce the specific character of a Tuscan rosé from the grape varieties that define this region's red wine identity.

On the palate, an intriguing flavour and a return to fruit in the finish make The Greti Rosée very pleasant to sip — a wine of genuine summer appeal and genuine quality, suited to the range of lighter preparations and convivial occasions that the rosé category at its best serves with such ease. The blood orange note on the nose translates into a palate of citrus freshness that gives the wine particular lift and drinkability.
