Sant'Antimo DOC is the broadest designation in the Corte dei Venti range — a DOC appellation that covers a wider range of grape varieties and wine styles than the more strictly defined Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino designations, and that allows the estate to demonstrate the full versatility of the Montalcino territory. Named for the ancient Benedictine abbey of Sant'Antimo that stands in the valley below the Montalcino hill — one of the most beautiful Romanesque buildings in all of Tuscany — the designation carries a historic resonance appropriate to an appellation whose winemaking tradition extends back to the founding of that community in the ninth century.

The Sant'Antimo DOC allows production from both indigenous and international varieties, providing the estate with the flexibility to explore aspects of the Montalcino terroir that the pure Sangiovese Grosso Brunello wines do not accommodate. This flexibility is expressed in a wine of accessible character and genuine territorial identity — the Montalcino landscape as expressed through a broader palette of varieties and a production approach calibrated for earlier consumption and broader table versatility.

Corte dei Venti's Sant'Antimo DOC reflects the same commitment to quality and the same respect for the Montalcino territory that characterises all the estate's wines — produced and aged in the same cellar, with the same attention to the large-format Slavonian oak barrel tradition that defines the estate's philosophy, but adapted to the specific character and the specific consumer of this broader appellation.

It is the wine through which the estate completes its range — from the most accessible Le Terre Rosse IGT through the Rosso and the Brunello DOCG wines to the Riserva — offering at each level a genuine and considered expression of what the Montalcino hill, its soils, its climate, and its winemaking tradition can produce.
