The Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Cartizze of Colline Guizzette comes from an estate whose origins trace to 1800 in the very Cartizze area — the celebrated cru of approximately 107 hectares near Valdobbiadene, widely considered the finest terroir in the entire Prosecco DOCG universe. Two centuries of continuous production in the Cartizze zone give Colline Guizzette a relationship with this specific piece of Venetian hillside that few estates can claim.
The Cartizze hill's specific soil composition — glacial moraine deposits on steep slopes — its particular exposure, and its altitude create conditions producing a Glera of unmistakably superior aromatic intensity. The estate began with the noble families of Onigo, Pola, and Battaia, and a long line of family members united by the same passion for winemaking has continued through to the present generation.
The wine presents with an intensely straw yellow colour; a nose of apple, apricot, pear, and rose with great elegance — the unmistakable Cartizze aromatic profile. Straw yellow with dense mousse and fine perlage; aromatic, soft and fresh on the palate; fruity and full-flavoured. The Colline Guizzette estate offers visitors a tasting room with stunning views across the Prosecco hills. Available through UniqueWines.
