Tredici is the white flagship of Cantina Tagliafierro — a wine whose name recalls the thirteen hamlets of Tramonti, each with its own microclimate and terracing, each contributing to the complex agricultural identity of this remarkable territory on the Amalfi Coast. It is a wine of deliberate multiplicity: in its variety of soil, in its blend of native grapes, in the many voices of a territory that is held together by the shared experience of growing vines on dry-stone terrace walls above the Mediterranean.

The blend brings together three varieties of genuine indigenous distinction. Pepella and Ginestra — the two native varieties of Tramonti — provide the wine's aromatic foundation: a bright floral nose and an intense mouthful of loquat and raspberry that are the specific contribution of these grapes to the territory's white wine tradition. Falanghina, now considered native to the area after seventy years since its introduction to the vineyard, defines the wine's structure and length on the palate — the variety's characteristic freshness and persistence giving Tredici its architecture.

The result is a wine that brings together the variety of soils across Tramonti's thirteen hamlets with the lightness and savouriness typical of higher elevations. It is, in the estate's own description, a tribute to the winegrowing and cultural richness of this territory — a wine that carries within it the full complexity of a landscape where sea and mountain, wind and salt, volcanic soil and ancient terrace walls conspire to produce something that could only have come from here.

On the nose, the wine is bright and floral — loquat, raspberry, the herbal suggestion of altitude. The palate is structured by the Falanghina while remaining light and savoury — a quality of the higher elevations that gives this wine its particular freshness and its particular appeal at the table.

Tredici is exceptional alongside the fish and seafood preparations of the Amalfi Coast, and equally distinguished as an aperitif. Available through UniqueWines.
