The wines of Fattoria Medicea root in the fourteenth-century tradition of Tuscan winemaking for Cosimo de' Medici — the great Florentine patron of the Renaissance whose influence shaped not only art and philosophy but also the agricultural traditions of Tuscany. This is a historical landmark estate in the fullest sense: an estate that lives entirely on its internal agricultural productions, from wines to extra-virgin olive oil, honeys, and venison meats, carrying its history as both responsibility and privilege.

The estate produces a range of Chianti-based wines under the Villa Petriolo designation, alongside a series of IGT wines that demonstrate the breadth of Tuscany's expressive range beyond the Sangiovese-dominated traditions of the great appellations.

VILLA PETRIOLO CHIANTI DOCG is the estate's classic Chianti — intense ruby red, immediately offering shades of cherry and strawberry with perceptible notes of rose and hints of sweet spice. Full and tasty, with velvety tannins in perfect harmony with freshness, it is a wine that wants to be elegant, stable, and long-lived — a Chianti that aspires to the endurance of any Medici villa.

VILLA PETRIOLO RESERVE DOCG CHIANTI is the elevated expression — the red colour lively and bright, the scent seductive with juicy fruit and hints of aromatic herbs (rosemary, sage, cinnamon). Sipping confirms the expectations with a juicy and charming drink, freshness and refined tannin texture in perfect balance.

RED GOLPAJA IGT is the estate's most ambitious red — intense and brilliant ruby red, a highly complex bouquet where fruity and balsamic notes alternate with great finesse, enhanced by sweet spice from the wood. It envelops the palate with volume and depth, giving a tasty freshness dressed in soft and thick tannins. Wine of great character and refined persistence.

POGGIARELLO IGT is the estate's white — straw with golden glints, floral fragrances of acacia and broom alongside linden and magnolia, fruity notes of peach and plum. Freshness and a savoury touch offer a balanced and pleasant sip.

DUE MULINI IGT is the estate's red blend of persuasive taste, smoothness, and good body with excellent persistence — suitable for important and succulent first and second courses, red meats of all kinds, and aged cheeses. THE GRETI ROSEE completes the range as the estate's Tuscan rosé, combining notes of cherry, plum, blood orange, and damask rose into a highly drinkable and attractive wine.
