Brandolini Winery was founded in 1873 with Alessio's great-grandfather, Carlo — and the estate has always been located in Oltrepò Pavese, a land made of hills so rich and generous. Based in the Municipality of San Damiano al Colle, the estate's other vine-growing lands are located in Rovescala and Montù Beccaria, for a total of nine hectares.

The grape varieties are a deliberate mix of the indigenous and the international: Barbera, Croatian, rare grapes, and Pinot Noir for winemaking in red; Malvasia, Riesling, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir for winemaking in white. The company policy is based on quality at all stages of processing — a commitment that over one hundred and fifty years has defined what this family considers their obligation to their vineyards and their customers.

IL SOFFIO (Breathe) is the estate's 100% Croatian red — from a grape harvested at adequate polyphenolic ripeness, fermented for about forty days in contact with the skins, aged in temperature-controlled steel for twelve months, with five percent undergoing twelve months in barriques. On the nose: strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, and currants. With good acidity and tannicity, it is definitively a full-bodied wine.

LUOGO D'AGOSTO is the estate's 100% Pinot Noir white — produced exclusively in favourable vintages. Grapes collected in 18-kilogram boxes; only the first pressing kept. The wine remains on fine lees until the time of draft. Yellow with a coppery tint, the nose is intense with hints of peach, balsamic herbs, and star anise. Balanced on the palate with good acidity, flavour, and persistence.

AL I PRA is a 100% Riesling Renano white — also in favourable vintages only. Grapes in cassette, placed whole in press, fermented at low temperature. Straw yellow; clear nose with ripe white fruit, balsamic herbs, and hydrocarbons. Balanced, warm, of great structure and persistence.

NEGRES is a 100% Pinot Noir red — in favourable vintages only. Pressed grapes fermented in contact with skins for approximately fifteen days. Garnet red; clear nose with morello cherry and currant. Elegant and rich on the palate, with currants, balsamic senses, and light spice. Balanced, warm, with good structure.

PANAU and ROE are the estate's Nebbiolo expressions — ruby red wines from Valtellina's great indigenous variety. BALOSS is the estate's Nebbiolo aged twelve months in Slavonian oak. Available through UniqueWines.
